As
a sport, soccer is well suited for younger players and provides a great
deal of diversity and finesse for older players. It provides a great cardiovascular
workout, and for kids as young as 4, can be a lot of fun.
| SSS and Indoor Soccer require a quicker
pace and more short controlled passes. And with the indoor variety
and smaller fields required for SSS, they can be played year-round.
Dribbling and control are more encouraged and taught as skills than
in regulation soccer. |
Regulation Soccer is a game of control and passing with
quick breakaways and outstanding team play usually resulting in goals.
Players are required to pass the ball both short and long distances. Because
Regulation Soccer is played on a much larger field, the pace of play is
slower and does not require as much precision from the individual players
in passing and trapping. The mere size of the field itself makes scoring
much more difficult, as advanced defensive players will keep and control
the ball near the touchlines and midfield, making scoring impossible
from these distances.
