The cross and shoot

Christopher Pitney on 15-May-2007 at 13:31:57

This practice involves a goalkeeper, 4 attackers, and 1 defender. The idea of the practice is to develop shooting and defending. The coach or perhaps another attacker passes to one of the stationary attackers who are relatively close to the corner flag, this player then sets the ball up for his team mate beside him who does his best to cross it to one of his attackers, who must avoid both the goalkeeper and the defender. You will find that this practice results in few goals, but the attackers and defenders will learn from their mistakes.
