Attention to Detail

The key to success is to have every kids undivided attention. For the past several years, I had the luxury of being the defensive coach on a very good 9-10 year-old football, but in 2004 we came in 3rd place and 2005 in 2nd place. The problem with the team then was that every kid wanted to do what they wanted to do. In which I saw that as a problem. When the kids were not allowed to do what they wanted, they became stubborn and gave up in games which resulted in the finishes. In 2006, I was given the opportunity to be the Head Coach. I made a vow to the parents and the players that i would do my best as long as the parents and players did their best. By getting that out in the beginning I laid the foundation for being successful. I made it clear to the players that everyone had a job to do and it was expected for them to do it to the best of their ability. Needless to say, we tied for 1st place in the regular season, I was chosen to be the Head Coach of the All-Star in which we won the Mickey Katkaveck Bowl and we won the 2nd District Region B Championship. All of this was done by putting players in positions to fit the team and not their wants.
