Lineup card

Cliff on 15-May-2007 at 13:31:57

While setting your lineup card, don't forget that you should arrange your betters batters at different locations throughout the lineup. For instance, your best hitter should not always bat in the clean-up position. I have coached for 12 years and two things have worked in my benefit. First, my lineup was usually different every single game. By bouncing hitters around, and practicing the team that way prior to the game, the defense, even one played against previously, were confused and we gained the upper edge. Two, baserunning wins games. More often than not, aggressive baserunning will force the other team to make errors and you in turn will score runs. ** The key to my line-up is I will normally put two of my best hitters at least halfway through the lineup to keep a rally intact. I have had 12 VERY successful seasons thus far and have started my fall 14- thru 18 year old team the same way. Never lost more than 3 games in a season and did not always have the best players.
