Baseball Throwing For Young Children

John Musnuff & Willem Terblanche on 15-May-2007 at 13:31:57

Similar to the Quick Draw drill. You'll need a large bucket and 2-3 half filled water bottles. Bucket is inverted and water bottles are on top like bowling pins. Place players about 20 feet away opposite each other (40 feet total). Player A throws, Player B fields the ball (usually a grounder), then Player B throws back and Player A fields. The coach stands near the bucket and resets as needed. Young children love this drill, they get to knock things over as hard as they want and they get practice at two skills at once.
